Avis Collins Dining Table November 19th, 2018 - 04:29:12
This is around two oval table. It does have a leaf just talking a little bit about this collection. This is inspired by the kind of the theme that the Sun never set on the British Empire and how the English introduced refinement to the world. This is characterized by the sweeping curves of the 18th century. English designs, combined with some relaxed, influences a little bit relaxed Island influence. It has elements of historic furnishings of the governor's mansions and Island colonies. This is a really great and, as you've seen this prop of the style, probably before it's got great classic elegance. It is beautifully done in mahogany, see what we've got for woods. We've got cathedral mahogany, veneers, there's a solid wood construction with a cathedral, mahogany veneers, and walnut inlays.
This is gonna, be your walnut inlay as warm tones of I don't really call it a fairly needed to dark cherry. It's a beautiful brown with a lot of red undertones to it, as you can see the way that it's done with the veneers, we have a kind of a sunburst radiating design. It comes like a piece of pie coming out all the way around, which creates this great pattern and the grains kind of go in different directions. So you get different highs and lows that you look at the table as the light reflects on it different things from medium golden red Browns to darker Browns. Then you have a tiny little inlay right here, a walnut inlay that comes right here to separate the design from the radiating to the edging. It is burnished around the edges.
So that means that you've got a little a bit of a darker stain, almost aging. It so that's very you know, friendly to wear and tear it has a little bit of antiquing, so you're gonna find some wormholes and some little intentional, scratches and discolorations in it, and that is intentional. It's not going to have a completely clean line. You're gonna see lots of little specks, and that is part of the charm in the style as we go down by the way we're showing this comfortably seat six, you can't really push all six chairs in all the way under for storage, but you can see Six chairs around it that great detailing very clean lines again simple, but elegant apron here very British heritage style is the pineapple motif and the sign of hospitality is what your pineapple is.
This is really nice to have that in your dining room table. It's kind of it's got the pineapple here and then it's kind of a medallion going around sitting atop this brown piece and then it's got four legs that come out and they have even more detail just beautifully done and well thought out all the way around the table does have one 20 inch leaf, so when it's in its fifty-six by seventy-six, then you can comfortably seat eight when you insert that leaf. If you are going to just maybe by poor side chairs and use it round most of the time, you can probably get away with seating eight to ten when you have the Oval, when you have the leaf in there, if you are using smaller scale, chairs you're Going to use some small diamond chairs, something like that and bring them in, because these are really pretty wide chairs. We show you these.
That is an extremely generous seat by any standards to show you. I can sit clearly on the edge and have nearly half the seat in front of me open. This is a gorgeous little-carved back chair great detail to this again. The color and the wood is beautiful. You've got this little swirly carve out on the top and gives a great design. The fabric is very textural. It's a short nub. It's really a golden wheat color is what I would describe it as it's got some tans and some lighter golds. It comes together. All waving together, it's really from a distant. It looks like a kind of a golden wheat color got great detail in the legs as well. Nothing is missed on. This got great turn legs and little bun feet. This is really a beautiful combination of formal and Hospital casual, comfortable, warm and inviting.
